Osun State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, has called on political stakeholders and youths across the state to shun all forms of violence, hate speech, and actions that may endanger the fragile peace in the state.
Speaking during a grassroots engagement in Ife North Local Government Area, Adewusi stressed the importance of unity, tolerance, and constructive dialogue among political parties and their supporters, noting that peace remains the bedrock of development.
“We cannot afford to let political differences divide us. Our diversity must be our strength. I urge our youth to channel their energy into productive ventures, not political thuggery,” he said.
The deputy governor also reiterated the current administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and community development.
Traditional rulers and local leaders present at the gathering commended the Deputy Governor’s appeal, promising to continue to preach unity and ensure political harmony in their respective domains.
This call comes amidst rising political tensions ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
