Ajara Lasisi, the Nollywood actress and content creator popularly known as Aunty Ajara, has passed away after a prolonged battle with illness.
The sad news was confirmed by her family on Thursday, February 5, 2026, who disclosed that she died in the early hours of the day following a serious health challenge.
In a heartfelt message shared online by her elder brother, Ridwan Lasisi, the family expressed deep appreciation to Nigerians and supporters across the world for their prayers, encouragement, and financial contributions throughout her illness. They also thanked colleagues in the Nollywood industry and members of the public who stood by the actress during her difficult time.
The statement, which was also shared by Nollywood director Tobi Oladele, popularly known as Teemony, described Aunty Ajara’s battle as “long and courageous.” The family further appealed to the public to discontinue donations to the medical account previously circulated, following her passing.
Aunty Ajara was widely loved for her roles in Yoruba-language films and her engaging online content, which earned her a strong fan base. Since the announcement of her death, tributes have continued to pour in from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers, celebrating her talent, humour, and resilience.
