PDP Regroups in Enugu, Vows to Win 2027 Elections!
Reported by David Joshua | Sele Media Africa
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State has announced a renewed strategy to rebuild its structures and reclaim political dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections. Sources inside the party say the state chapter has inaugurated its executives across all 17 local government areas and 260 wards, signalling a fresh grassroots push. [1]
During the inauguration, the state chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, urged party members to mobilise and “work for victory in 2027”, acknowledging that the party made significant strategic errors during the 2023 elections. [1]
In another development, concerned stakeholders of the state PDP emphasized their determination not to defect and affirmed loyalty, declaring the party still “a force to beat” in the state despite rumours of mass exits. [2]
These moves come amid rising pressure in the Southeast political landscape, where rival parties, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC), have made aggressive inroads into Enugu. Analysts say the PDP’s mobilisation efforts now hinge on rebuilding trust, consolidating the grassroots, and presenting credible candidates.
