Obi Warns Certificate Forgery Endangers National Morality After Minister Admits No Degree
Reported by David Joshua | Sele Media Africa

Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has sounded the alarm over what he sees as a deepening moral crisis in Nigeria, following reports that a minister in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet allegedly admitted to never having obtained a legitimate university degree.

In response to the controversy, Obi warned that certificate forgery risks normalizing dishonesty in public life, saying leaders who manipulate their academic records are living a “falsified life.” He argued that such deception creates a dangerous precedent, undermining integrity among government officials and in society at large.

Earlier, Obi had commented on Tinubu’s own certificate saga, stating that the controversy worsens Nigeria’s international image. He lamented that uninformed outsiders now view Nigerians as fraudsters or certificate forgers because of continuing questions about the President’s credentials.
