In a bold step towards market modernization and economic revitalization, the General Manager of the Jos Main Market Authority (JMMA), Engr. Mangna Yusuf Wamyil, on Tuesday, 26th August 2025, led an assessment tour of the Kabong Satellite Market in Jos.
The inspection was conducted in collaboration with Da-Shim Nigeria Limited, a private technical firm led by its Managing Director, Gary Kim Pam Wayas. The joint team undertook a comprehensive evaluation of the market’s existing infrastructure and facilities with the goal of developing workable plans for its remodeling and transformation into a modern, secure, and thriving commercial hub.
Speaking during the tour, Engr. Wamyil stressed that the initiative goes beyond structural renovation — it aims to reignite local commerce, empower traders, and restore Kabong Market’s economic significance. He emphasized the pivotal role of markets in driving Plateau State’s economy and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to improving livelihoods through strategic infrastructure development. “This is in line with Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s vision of fostering prosperity and economic freedom for the people of Plateau State,” Wamyil stated.
Sele Media Africa will continue to monitor the progress of this vital project and its impact on Plateau’s economic landscape.
