Elon Musk Launches “Macrohard” — A Bold AI Software Rival to Microsoft
In a surprising and bold move, tech billionaire Elon Musk has unveiled a new venture named Macrohard, a “purely AI” software company designed to compete directly with tech giants like Microsoft. According to Musk, despite the tongue-in-cheek name, Macrohard is real — and it aims to run entirely on artificial intelligence, from software development to company management.
The announcement was further clarified by Grok, xAI’s chatbot, which revealed that Macrohard will focus on building AI agents capable of coding, automating workflows, and generating images. The vision is to simulate the operations of a software company — but entirely by AI systems, with little to no human intervention.
Supporting this move, Musk’s AI firm xAI officially filed a U.S. trademark for Macrohard on August 1, 2025, covering a wide range of AI-powered services, including speech and text software, intelligent assistants, and development tools.
Industry analysts say this could mark a disruptive new era in software development and AI integration — especially as Musk continues to expand his AI footprint beyond Tesla and X (formerly Twitter). Sele Media Africa will continue to monitor the development of Macrohard and its potential impact on the global tech ecosystem.
