Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Communication Vision Aims to Rebuild Public Trust – Minister!

Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Communication Vision Aims to Rebuild Public Trust – Minister

The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation says the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is prioritising the restoration of public trust through a renewed communication strategy. The Minister, Mohammed Idris, stated that credible, clear, and consistent messaging is central to achieving transparency and facilitating civic engagement under the “Renewed Hope Agenda.” [1]

In a recent review by the ministry‑led National Communication Team, Idris emphasised that the government’s communication approach must be evidence‑based and responsive to citizens’ concerns. He linked greater public confidence in governance to improved information dissemination and participatory outreach. [2]

The communication drive comes against the backdrop of President Tinubu’s broader reform agenda, which the ministry says will be better understood and supported by Nigerians if the government succeeds in bridging the gap between policy intent and public awareness.
The ministry unveiled new institutional mechanisms—such as town hall meetings, unified messaging systems and stakeholder engagement platforms—to ensure that reforms are communicated in accessible language and that citizen feedback is captured. The goal: to build a relationship of trust between the governed and the governing.

As the administration advances its policy priorities, the ministry’s message remains clear: “Trust must be earned, not assumed.”
