Army Decorates Eight Promoted Officers in Imo State

Owerri, Imo — In a ceremony held at the headquarters of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, eight officers of the Nigerian Army were formally decorated following their promotion. The event was presided over by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Ibrahim Abbas, who was joined by senior officers of the brigade. [1]
According to reports by Punch Nigeria and the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), among the six officers promoted from the rank of Captain to Major are U. C. Adiela, A. M. Saud, S. Gabriel, A. G. Abideen, M. A. Adeniran, and Joseph Akubo, who currently serves as Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the brigade. [1]
Two others, H. C. Mmeribegini and Y. Audu, were elevated from Lieutenant to Captain. [1]
During the ceremony, Brig. Gen. Abbas commended the officers for their “gallantry, courage, and dedication to duty.” He also declared that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, remains committed to recognizing high-performing personnel. [1]
Witnesses to the event included Mr. Eugene Dibiagwu, member representing Oguta and Ohaji/Egbema Federal Constituency, and Mr. Gabriel Nwosu, a member of the Imo State House of Assembly. [1]
