President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) to settle outstanding arrears amounting to N30 billion, owed to agro-dealers and input suppliers under the National Agricultural Growth Scheme and Agro-Pocket (NAGS-AP).
The move is aimed at restoring confidence among stakeholders in the agricultural sector and ensuring the smooth delivery of farm inputs to Nigerian farmers ahead of the next planting season.
According to the Presidency, the payment will help strengthen food security initiatives, boost productivity, and encourage private sector participation in agricultural development.
Agro-dealers welcomed the directive, describing it as a timely intervention that will revive trust and ease financial constraints within the sector.
