Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has alleged that powerful cabals within Aso Rock frustrated former President Muhammadu Buhariโs plan to appoint Chief Audu Ogbe as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
According to El-Rufai, Ogbe was considered โtoo independent-mindedโ to be controlled, a trait that reportedly did not sit well with the cabals, who preferred someone they could manipulate. This claim has rekindled heated debate over the influence of unelected power blocs during Buhariโs administration.
The revelation has sparked fresh conversations among Nigerians about the hidden hands shaping governance, with many questioning whether the country can ever truly be free from the grip of political cabals.
Do you think Nigeria will ever break free from the cabals pulling the strings behind the scenes?
