Africa’s Global Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting small and medium‑scale enterprises (SMEs) by headlining its sponsorship of this year’s Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF) for the seventh consecutive year. [1]
Organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, LITF opened on Friday, November 7 and runs through November 17, 2025. The event is expected to attract thousands of exhibitors, investors and visitors from across Nigeria and beyond. [1]
In line with its “customer‑first” philosophy, UBA will operate a full‑service branch on the trade‑fair grounds where customers making transactions such as deposits, withdrawals or transfers will qualify for a “Lucky Dip” draw with premium prizes on offer.
At the opening ceremony, UBA’s Head of SME Banking, Babatunde Ajayi, emphasised the strategic importance of the partnership with LCCI and said the collaboration is central to UBA’s mission to mobilise capital and empower enterprises of all scales for global competitiveness. “Our consistent support for LITF and our bank‑wide initiatives around the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) are interconnected,” he stated. UBA’s Group Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, positioned the bank’s participation within the context of its vision for Africa’s economic transformation—as detailed in its recently published white‑paper on achieving a $4 trillion continental economy. “LITF is a key platform through which UBA turns our bold vision into action,” she said. With UBA’s ongoing support and innovative offerings at the fair, the institution continues to demonstrate its role in facilitating business growth, trade‑linkages and financial inclusion—especially for SMEs in Nigeria and across Africa.
