Kaduna, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led a delegation of high-ranking political and traditional figures to Kaduna State on Friday, September 19, 2025, to attend the wedding fatiha of Nasirudeen Yari, son of former Zamfara State governor and current Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdul’aziz Yari. President Tinubu’s aircraft landed at the Hassan Usman Katsina International Airport at approximately 12:56 p.m., where he was received by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, and other dignitaries. The wedding, held at Sultan Bello Mosque, attracted prominent guests including traditional rulers, religious leaders, governors, ministers, and major political figures from across Nigeria. After the wedding ceremonies, Tinubu made a courtesy visit to the family of late President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna. He was received by Aisha Buhari, the widow of the former president, to offer his condolences. During the visit, Tinubu praised Buhari as a selfless leader whose contributions to Nigeria’s unity and progress remain enduring. The event demonstrated both personal solidarity and political symbolism, as many observers suggested the gathering served as a platform for informal consultations amid the approaching 2027 elections.
