Surviving Car Crash Taught Me to Value Life – Kogi Graduate
Reported by David Joshua
A recent graduate from Kogi State, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, has shared his story of survival after a ghastly car accident that left him with a broken leg and multiple injuries.
The young man, pictured using makeshift wooden crutches, recounted how the tragic event changed his perspective on life. “People at the scene said whoever sat in my position was expected to die or sustain serious injuries,” he said.
He explained that the accident happened while he was travelling for a job interview shortly after his graduation. The car he was in veered off the road and somersaulted multiple times. He was the only one severely injured, while other passengers sustained minor injuries.
Now recovering, he said the experience has deepened his appreciation for life. “I see every breath now as a gift. Surviving that crash taught me that life is fragile and should never be taken for granted.”
He urged young people to prioritize safety, especially while travelling, and never take moments for granted.
