Abuja — The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has reaffirmed that restructuring Nigeria is critical to achieving sustainable development across the country. He said that without revisiting governance structures, resource control, and fiscal federalism, lasting growth will remain elusive.
At a recent engagement, Akume emphasized that restructuring should not be seen as a concession to separatist sentiments, but as a practical pathway to more efficient governance, local autonomy, and equitable development.
He also tasked newly appointed ministers to collaborate closely in delivering on the “Renewed Hope” agenda, stressing that synchronized action across ministries is essential for national transformation. [1]
