President Tinubu Deploys GOC 3rd Division to Jos to Safeguard Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo Amid Kidnapping Rumors!

In a swift move to quell public fears and ensure the safety of a prominent religious leader, President Bola Tinubu has reportedly directed the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army to Jos, Plateau State. This follows circulating rumors alleging the kidnapping of Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo.
Reverend Dachomo is a well-known pastor and founder of the RCCG (Redeemed Christian Church of God) branch in Jos, widely respected for his peacebuilding efforts and community development work in the volatile Middle Belt region. His ministry has often focused on promoting interfaith dialogue amid recurring conflicts in the area.
Though the Nigerian Police and military have yet to confirm any abduction, the President’s proactive decision signals the government’s recognition of the potential threat to religious harmony in the region. The deployment aims to provide round-the-clock protection for Rev. Dachomo and reassure the public of the state’s readiness to protect its citizens and religious figures.
Kidnapping and security challenges remain a pressing issue in Plateau State and surrounding areas, where armed banditry and communal clashes have escalated over recent years. Religious leaders like Rev. Dachomo often find themselves targets due to their influence and perceived roles in peace negotiations.
The military presence in Jos is expected to enhance security, prevent any harm to Rev. Dachomo, and serve as a deterrent against any group attempting to destabilize the peace in the region.
Local community leaders and church members have expressed gratitude for the government’s swift action and called for sustained efforts to tackle insecurity in Plateau State
