Police Arrest Vandals Who Broke Into Our Headquarters — Sen. Usman‑Led LP!

The leadership of the Senator Nenadi Usman‑led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has confirmed the arrest of suspected vandals who allegedly attempted to forcefully gain entry into the party’s national headquarters in Utako District, Abuja.
According to a statement released by the party on Wednesday morning, a rapid response team from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command apprehended the suspected hoodlums in the early hours before they could break into the premises. Party officials said the swift action helped avert what could have escalated into a serious breach of security at the secretariat.
The statement, signed by Ken Asogwa media aide to Senator Nenadi Usman expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Police for their swift intervention and noted that the arrested suspects were being questioned to aid further investigations and identify anyone who may have sponsored the attack.
Labour Party sources said normalcy has since been restored at the national secretariat following the arrests, with heightened security still maintained at the Utako office. The party also issued a strong warning to elements within its ranks who might contemplate acts of violence or lawlessness under the guise of internal disagreements, saying such behaviour would not be tolerated.
The incident comes amid a prolonged leadership tussle within the Labour Party, with the Usman‑led caretaker committee recently resuming operations at the party’s headquarters after a Federal High Court affirmed its leadership. That judgment, and subsequent recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has been contested by rival factions within the party.
Party officials reiterated their commitment to resolving internal disputes through lawful means and urged members to remain calm and focused on rebuilding the party’s structures ahead of upcoming political activities.
