Jigawa State Police Command has arrested four individuals suspected of involvement in car theft and cattle rustling across the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Jigawa, SP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the arrests, stating that the suspects were apprehended during separate operations aimed at curbing rising cases of vehicle theft and livestock theft in the region.
According to SP Shiisu, some stolen vehicles and a number of cattle have been recovered from the suspects. The police are currently investigating to uncover any possible connections to larger criminal networks.
“This operation is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance security and protect the property and livelihoods of citizens in Jigawa State. We urge residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information,” he added.
The police assured that the suspects would be prosecuted under the relevant laws to serve as a deterrent to others engaged in such criminal activities.
