Paris Court Bans Surgeons After Billionaire Dies During Penis Enlargement Procedure!

In a striking case that has drawn global attention, a Paris court has barred two cosmetic surgeons from practising medicine after 65-year-old Belgian-Israeli diamond dealer Ehud Arye Laniado died during a penile enlargement procedure at a private clinic in France.
Laniado, founder of diamond firm Omega Diamonds, suffered a heart attack while undergoing the controversial enhancement treatment at the Saint-Honoré-Ponthieu aesthetic clinic in Paris. Reports say he was a regular client of the lead surgeon, known only as Guy H., often visiting the clinic outside standard hours for expensive cosmetic procedures.
Court Ruling: Bans, Suspended Sentences, and Fines
On Wednesday, the Paris court:
Revoked the medical licence of Guy H. and sentenced him to a 15-month prison term (suspended).
Gave the second surgeon — who was covering for Guy H. that night — a 12-month suspended sentence.
Ordered both men to pay fines of €50,000 and €20,000 respectively.
Issued permanent bans preventing both surgeons from practising medicine in France.
Prosecutors pursued charges including failure to assist a person in danger, drug-related offences and practising medicine without full authorisation, though reports indicate the court did not find the injection itself to be the direct cause of Laniado’s death.
Delays in Emergency Response
Investigators raised concerns over delays in contacting emergency services after Laniado showed signs of distress, noting that an initial call for help was made hours before the full emergency response was activated. Defence lawyers argued that the heart attack may not have been directly linked to the procedure.
Broader Reaction
The incident has reignited debate over safety and regulation in high-end cosmetic procedures, particularly those performed in private clinics and outside regular hospital settings. Critics say cases like this expose gaps in oversight that may endanger patients seeking elective enhancements.
