Oyo Approves Conversion of 654 Officers Across Cadres
By Enock Damidami | Sele Media AfricaOyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the conversion of 654 officers across various cadres in the state’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), in a bid to enhance worker welfare and career progression within the civil service. [1]According to a statement issued by the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, the beneficiaries — who range from junior to senior levels — were eligible for conversion after acquiring relevant recognised qualifications from approved tertiary institutions. The move is expected to result in improved remuneration and provide opportunities for the officers to advance further in their careers. [1]The Civil Service Commission Chairman, Kamoru Aderibigbe, described the approval as an unprecedented end‑of‑year goodwill gesture by the governor, urging the beneficiaries to respond with increased dedication, diligence and commitment to service. [1]Officials say the approval reflects the Makinde administration’s commitment to human capital development and the professionalization of the state civil service [2]
