Geneva / North America — In the first phase of ticket sales for the much-anticipated FIFA World Cup 2026, over 4.5 million fans worldwide entered the Visa Presale Draw, according to official FIFA figures. The draw was open for Visa cardholders from 10 September to 19 September 2025 across 216 countries and territories. The highest number of applications came from fans living in the three host nations: United States, Mexico, and Canada, followed by Germany, England, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, and Italy. Applicants will begin to be notified of their status starting Monday, 29 September 2025, with timeslots to purchase tickets opening on Wednesday, 1 October. Ticket prices in the group stage for successful applicants start from USD $60. Single‑match and venue‑/team‑specific tickets will also be part of the sales. FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the number of entrants as “not only outstanding figures, but also a strong statement,” reflecting global enthusiasm for what is expected to be the biggest FIFA World Cup ever. The draws mark the beginning of a structured multi‑phase ticketing process aimed at ensuring fairness and giving fans from all over the world a chance to attend. Subsequent phases, including an Early Ticket Draw, will open on 27 October 2025.
