Today, I am delighted to officially announce the appointment of Mr. Chisomo Phiri as the Managing Director of Sele Media Malawi, the Southern African satellite branch of Sele Media Africa.

This appointment marks a significant milestone in our strategic expansion across the Southern Africa region — a bold step toward amplifying authentic African voices and shaping narratives that matter.

Mr. Chisomo Phiri is an accomplished journalist with a remarkable track record in news reporting, feature writing, and digital media. Over the years, he has contributed to several of Malawi’s leading print and online publications, earning a solid reputation for accuracy, integrity, and balanced journalism.

His leadership at Sele Media Malawi 🇲🇼 embodies our shared commitment to truth-driven journalism, ethical storytelling, and empowering Malawians to shape their own national conversation.

Based in Blantyre, Malawi’s economic capital and the new headquarters of Sele Media Malawi, Mr. Chisomo brings both academic and professional excellence to the role. He holds a Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies, alongside certifications in Digital Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, Digital and Multimedia Journalism, and the NBCU Certificate in Journalism.

As part of Sele Media Africa’s International Leadership Team, Mr. Phiri will immediately begin the recruitment and onboarding of journalists across Malawi who share our vision for transformative media in Africa.

Together, we are building a new generation of media that informs, inspires, and ignites change across the continent.
