Niger Unveils 30-Year Development Plan at UN General Assembly
New York, USA – September 28, 2025 Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has officially launched a bold 30-year development blueprint at the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, marking the occasion with the first-ever “Niger Day” — an event aimed at attracting foreign investment, strategic partnerships, and diaspora collaboration. The long-term plan, which runs from 2025 to 2055, is anchored on sustainable economic growth, industrialisation, infrastructure, education, and environmental resilience. Governor Bago highlighted key focus areas:
– Agricultural transformation using mechanisation and technology
– Massive infrastructure investments including roads, energy, and ICT
