Niger: Bandits disguised in hijabs abduct school principal, woman!

In a disturbing incident in Niger State, Nigeria, armed bandits disguised in hijabs abducted a school principal and a woman. The assailants, masquerading as women, infiltrated the community and kidnapped the victims. This tactic of using disguises to carry out abductions has been observed in other regions as well.

For instance, in Katsina State, bandits dressed in hijabs abducted 26 individuals, mostly women and children, in the Runka community of Safana Local Government Area. [1] Similarly, in Zamfara State, bandits wearing women’s attire attacked Maru Local Government Area, abducting numerous villagers. [2]

These incidents highlight a troubling trend where criminals use disguises to bypass security and carry out kidnappings. The increasing frequency of such attacks underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures and community vigilance to protect vulnerable populations.
