New HND Programmes Approved for Plateau State Polytechnic, Heipang

Plateau State Polytechnic, Heipang, Barkin Ladi, has announced the approval and commencement of sales of admission forms for several newly introduced Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a statement dated 1st September 2025 and signed by the institution’s Registrar, Mrs. Evelyn V. Ayuba, the management disclosed that online sales of admission forms will run from Monday, 8th September to Friday, 10th October 2025.
According to the release, the newly accredited HND courses cut across four schools within the Polytechnic:
School of Engineering
1. HND Electrical Electronics Engineering (Instrumentation & Control Engineering option)
2. HND Computer Engineering
3. HND Foundry Engineering Technology
4. HND Metallurgical and Material Engineering
5. HND Mineral Resource and Petroleum Engineering with options in:
Geological Engineering
Petroleum Engineering
6. HND Agricultural & Bio-Environmental Engineering with options in:
Farm Power and Machinery Engineering
Soil & Water Engineering
School of Environmental Studies
1. HND Building Technology
2. HND Estate Management and Valuation
3. HND Quantity Surveying
School of Science and Technology
1. HND Food Science Technology
2. HND Leisure & Tourism Management (Events, Festival & Tourism Management option)
School of Information Science and Communication Technology
1. HND Library & Information Science
2. HND Computer Science with options in:
Software & Web Development
Computer Cloud Networking
Cyber Security Technology
Artificial Intelligence Technology
3. HND Mass Communication with options in:
Journalism and Media Studies
Strategic Communication and Media Studies
The management emphasized that candidates are to process their applications strictly through the Polytechnic’s admission portal: www.apply.plapolyportal.com.
Applicants are required to generate an RRR slip via the portal for payment of a ₦5,000 form fee at any commercial bank, USSD platform, or online channels. In addition, a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000 is mandatory.
The statement warned that all application activities — including purchase, completion, and submission of forms — must be concluded on or before 10th October 2025.
The Acting Rector, Dr. Chirman Clement Selchum (PhD, MNIM, FISON), and Acting Registrar, Mr. Sunday Davou Dagwom (B.A (Ed) ENGR, NCE, ELT/MN MIC/PGAN), underscored that this development reflects the Polytechnic’s commitment to advancing technical education and expanding opportunities for students across Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
