Abuja, Nigeria — November 16, 2025 —
A high-ranking naval officer, Lt. Yerima, has allegedly escaped an attempted assassination in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to exclusive military sources quoted by Vanguard, Lt. Yerima was reportedly trailed by suspected assassins dressed in black and driving two unmarked Hilux vans without number plates. The vehicles allegedly followed him from NIPCO Filling Station off the Line Expressway to Gado Nasco Way, raising immediate security concerns.
Despite the threat, Lt. Yerima reportedly outmanoeuvred his pursuers and is now confirmed to be in a safe location.
The motive behind the attempted attack remains unknown, but many Nigerians are already asking serious questions.
"This is not looking good," said one analyst. "Who wants to harm the man who made Nigerians proud of their military again?"
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement, but investigations are reportedly underway.
Sele Media Africa will continue to follow this story closely and provide updates as more information becomes available.
