Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has approved N1 billion for the procurement of critical medical equipment to boost the functionality of primary healthcare centres across the state.
In a statement released by the State Ministry of Health on Tuesday, the governor also authorized the deployment of 2,237 newly recruited health workers, including doctors, nurses, midwives, and community health extension workers.
Governor Sule said the investment aligns with his administration’s commitment to achieving universal health coverage and reducing maternal and child mortality.
“This funding and deployment will ensure that no ward in Nasarawa is left without qualified health personnel and working facilities,” he stated.
The move comes as part of the state’s broader strategy to revamp its healthcare system through infrastructural upgrades, workforce expansion, and increased funding.
