As the political tide shifts and fresh voices begin to emerge, Sele Media Africa sat down with *Dung’s Sylvester Jos*, Chairman of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), Gyel District. Known for his strong grassroots connection and passionate youth advocacy, Mr. Jos recently declared his intention to run for the House of Representatives, representing *Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency*. In this interview, he discusses his vision, values, and motivations behind his declaration.
—
*Joshua:* What inspired your decision to run for the House of Representatives?
*Dung’s Sylvester Jos:*
With a deep sense of responsibility, humility, and passion for service, I have decided to step forward. My decision is inspired by years of working closely with the people—not from a distance, but side by side. I’ve seen their struggles, heard their hopes, and shared in their pain. I’m not stepping forward for fame, but for purpose — to offer leadership that is accessible, accountable, and dedicated to transforming lives across our constituency.
—
*Joshua:* You’ve been a prominent youth leader in your community. How does that experience shape your political ambition?
*Jos:*
Serving as Chairman of BYM in Gyel District has taught me the true essence of leadership — which is about listening, uniting, and building. I’ve been in the trenches with the youth, molding minds and promoting peace. This has grounded me in the realities of our people. My ambition is not born out of political privilege but community experience.
—
*Sele Media Africa:* What specific issues do you plan to tackle if elected?
*Jos:*
Our youth are incredibly talented, and our people are hardworking, but we lack opportunities and fair representation. My core focus will be on *youth empowerment, infrastructure development, education, job creation*, and *transparent constituency engagement*. It’s time we had a louder and more credible voice in Abuja. I want to ensure Jos South and Jos East are not just represented, but respected.
—
*Sele Media Africa:* You speak a lot about a new kind of leadership. What does that look like for you?
*Jos:*
Leadership, to me, is not about lording over the people — it’s about serving them. It’s about sacrifice, sincerity, and accountability. I envision a leadership where the people are not only heard but involved in decision-making. I will remain close to the grassroots, just as I have always been.
—
*Sele Media Africa:* You’ve used the phrase “The Future We Deserve.” Can you explain what that means?
*Jos:*
It means a future where *every young person has a chance, where communities are developed not neglected, and where governance is people-centered*. It’s about rewriting the narrative of Jos South and Jos East as forgotten zones into one of growth, innovation, and unity.
—
*Sele Media Africa:* What message do you have for your constituents?
*Jos:*
Let us unite as *one constituency, one people, with one dream* — to build a Jos South and Jos East we can all be proud of. Together, we can make our voices heard. Together, we can build a better future. Together, we can win.
—
*Sele Media Africa:* Finally, what should the people expect from you moving forward?
*Jos:*
Transparency, accessibility, passion, and a commitment to purpose over politics. I am here to serve, not to rule. Let’s rise together.
—
*Conclusion:*
Dung’s Sylvester Jos is not just declaring interest — he’s declaring a movement. With the rising call for youth-led leadership and grassroots development, his message resonates with a growing number of constituents hungry for change.
