Minister in Tinubu’s Cabinet Faces Certificate Scandal as UNN, NYSC Disown Documents
By David Joshua | Sele Media Africa
The academic credentials of Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, have come under scrutiny following revelations that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have disowned key documents he presented.
According to an investigation by Premium Times, UNN confirmed that it did not award the degree certificate Nnaji has been claiming for years. Although he enrolled at the university in 1981 to study Architecture, the institution stated he did not graduate and was never issued a valid certificate.
Further damaging to Nnaji’s credibility, the NYSC also stated that no record exists showing he completed the mandatory one-year national service—a legal requirement for public office holders in Nigeria.
This controversy has sparked widespread outrage, with calls from civil society and opposition groups urging President Tinubu to investigate and take appropriate disciplinary action.
As of now, the Minister has not publicly responded to the allegations.
