Insecurity: Nigerian Air Force Strikes Kill Terrorists, Bandits in Borno, Kwara, Katsina and Beyond

In a major escalation of counter‑terror and counter‑banditry efforts, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed a series of precision airstrikes targeting terrorist and criminal hideouts across multiple states, including Borno, Kwara and Katsina. [1]

According to NAF’s Director of Public Relations, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operations executed on November 9, 2025 under “Operation Hadin Kai” and “Operation Fansan Yamma” dealt a decisive blow to insurgents. In Borno State the strike focus was in the Northern Tumbuns region—including Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram—where ISWAP fighters were observed mobilising with motorcycles and boats along the Lake Chad Basin. Simultaneously in Kwara State, air interdiction missions ravaged bandit camps in Garin Dandi and Chigogo. In Katsina State, the strike at Zango Hill in Kankara LGA targeted a known terrorist kingpin and his logistics hub, reportedly neutralising several fighters.
Post‑strike assessments confirmed the destruction of insurgent hideouts, weapons storage facilities and transport logistics, significantly degrading the mobility and capabilities of the armed groups. The NW corridor—from Zamfara, Kebbi to Kaduna—also came under armed reconnaissance missions targeting fleeing fighters along key routes. [4]

The operations underscore the NAF’s renewed strategy of intelligence‑driven airpower aimed at protecting citizens and restoring stability in Nigeria’s northern theatres.
