Dangote Refinery Resumes Fuel Sale in Naira
Reported by David Joshua | Sele Media Africa
The Dangote Refinery has announced the resumption of fuel sales in Naira, following weeks of halted domestic transactions amid foreign exchange complications. According to a statement released by the company on Friday, the move comes after the intervention of the Naira-for-Crude Technical Committee, which was established to stabilize local crude supply and ease pressure on Nigeria’s forex reserves. The refinery noted that this decision is expected to boost local distribution, reduce fuel scarcity, and support the naira’s stability by reducing reliance on the dollar for internal transactions.Industry experts have praised the development, calling it a “timely step toward domestic energy security” and a potential relief for downstream marketers.
