Dangote Refinery has officially addressed the circulating reports that it plans to halt petrol production for three months due to maintenance issues. According to a spokesperson for the refinery, these claims are false and misleading.
The management clarified that there is no plan to stop petrol production, nor is the facility undergoing any form of critical repair. They emphasized that the refinery’s operations remain on track, and any routine maintenance would be part of standard procedure — not an emergency shutdown.
This statement comes in response to speculation suggesting that the refinery would be temporarily out of operation, sparking public concern about fuel supply stability in Nigeria.
Key points from the clarification:
• No shutdown of petrol production.
• No emergency repairs required.
• Operations are progressing as scheduled.
The refinery recently began rolling out petrol supplies and is expected to play a major role in reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported fuel.
