The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command, has intercepted an illegal shipment of endangered wildlife, including a lion cub and two patas monkeys, at Gbaji on the Badagry-Seme Road. The animals were reportedly being smuggled across the border into the Benin Republic.
“Our officers made the interception following intelligence reports, and the animals were rescued before they could be trafficked,” an NCS spokesperson said.
