BREAKING: Peter Obi Moves to Sue Activist Deji Adeyanju Over Alleged Defamation

Sele Media Africa — Abuja: Former presidential candidate and Labour Party flagbearer in the 2023 elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has taken legal steps against political activist Deji Adeyanju over what he claims are defamatory statements spread across social media.

In a strongly worded letter of demand issued by his counsel, Alex Ejesieme (SAN), Obi accused Adeyanju of consistently publishing false, damaging, and malicious content on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and other platforms — with the intent to tarnish his image.

The letter references several posts dating as far back as 2022, where Adeyanju allegedly portrayed Obi as corrupt, deceitful, and a religious bigot. One post claimed Obi diverted state funds into his family’s businesses, while another accused him of attempting to bribe Adeyanju after a private meeting — claims Obi’s team describes as fabricated and baseless.
