Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has officially commissioned the newly constructed JMDB Market located in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Area, in what has been described as a major boost to the local economy and small business growth.
The modern market complex, facilitated by the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB), features over 60 lock-up shops and 112 open stalls, with units available in both maximum and mini sizes to accommodate traders of different capacities.
The market is also equipped with vital infrastructure, including:
• Restaurants
• A dedicated JMDB Market Office
• Improved access roads and basic utilities
Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Mutfwang emphasized his administration’s commitment to supporting micro and small enterprises, enhancing trading environments, and creating jobs through infrastructural development.
“This project reflects our vision to modernize markets across Plateau State and support our traders with decent, secure, and organized spaces,” he said.
The event witnessed the presence of traditional leaders, traders’ associations, government officials, and community stakeholders who hailed the development as timely and impactful.
