BREAKING: Gachagua Fires Back at President Ruto – “You Studied Plants and Lizards, That’s Why You Can’t Govern People”
Reported by Suzan Daniel | Sele Media Africa | September 15, 2025
Tensions between former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto have escalated following recent remarks made by the President, allegedly calling Gachagua “uneducated.”
In a fiery response during a public address, Gachagua didn’t hold back:
“Kasongo, you call me uneducated? I studied political science, you studied plants and lizards — that’s why you can’t govern people,” Gachagua declared, in what many are calling a direct jab at Ruto's academic background in botany and zoology.
The political drama continues to unfold, with this public exchange sparking conversations across Kenyan media and social platforms. Many supporters have taken sides, with hashtags like #GachaguaVsRuto and #UneducatedClash trending on X (formerly Twitter).
While the Presidency has yet to officially respond to Gachagua’s statements, political analysts say the rift could signal deeper fractures within the ruling party’s inner circle.
