The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially condemned the rising wave of immoral “sign-out” celebrations among graduating students in both secondary schools and tertiary institutions across the country.

Speaking on behalf of the government, the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, expressed deep concern over the increasingly indecent dressing and behavior often displayed during post-exam celebrations.

“We are alarmed by the moral decay reflected in many of these ‘sign-out’ events. What should be a moment of reflection and appreciation is turning into a show of irresponsibility,” he said.

Mallam Issa-Onilu called on parents, school authorities, religious leaders, community heads, and the media to work together in curbing this negative trend, warning that it could spiral into a wider societal problem if left unchecked.

“We urge all stakeholders to join hands with the NOA and relevant agencies to discourage and correct this culture before it becomes the norm,” he added.

The NOA plans to roll out nationwide sensitization campaigns targeting schools and communities in the coming months to promote values, discipline, and responsible youth behavior.

Sele Media Africa will continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates on government efforts to address youth culture and social responsibility.
