The Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, has apprehended 51 suspected criminals across various locations in the state.
The arrests were made during recent coordinated operations aimed at curbing crime and ensuring the safety of residents. The suspects were allegedly involved in various criminal activities including armed robbery, cultism, burglary, kidnapping, and illegal possession of firearms.
Speaking during a media briefing in Akure, the Commander of the Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, stated that the arrests were the result of intelligence-driven operations across Akure South, Owo, Ondo West, and other flashpoints.
He emphasized that the agency remains committed to supporting conventional security agencies in securing lives and property in Ondo State.
“We will not relent in our efforts to rid the state of criminal elements. These suspects will be thoroughly investigated, and those found guilty will be handed over for prosecution,” Adeleye assured.
Residents have been urged to continue cooperating with Amotekun and report any suspicious activities within their communities.
