By Enock Damidami | Sele Media Africa
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development,Festus Keyamo, has commended the ARISE Palm Resort project in Akwa Ibom State, describing it as a “game-changing support infrastructure” for Nigeria’s airport and tourism business. The resort, located near the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, is expected to drive economic growth, increase passenger traffic, and boost the hospitality industry in the region. [1]Keyamo, who made the remarks during an official visit to inspect ongoing developments in the state, praised the Akwa Ibom State Government for its foresight in aligning tourism, aviation, and infrastructure development. He noted that the synergy between the resort and airport operations would not only promote tourism but also elevate the international status of the airport. [2]He added that such integrated projects serve as models for other states seeking to maximize the economic potential of their airports. The ARISE Palm Resort is positioned as a high-end hospitality destination that complements Ibom Air’s growing operations and the broader aviation ecosystem in the region. [2]The initiative is part of the state’s strategic effort to position itself as a regional aviation and tourism hub, under the administration of Governor Umo Eno.
