A 74-year-old man on Saturday became the first person to cast his vote at Polling Unit 003, Awka 2 Ward 6, in Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State, as the governorship election commenced peacefully.
Arriving early before accreditation began, the elderly voter expressed hope for credible leadership and urged young people to embrace civic responsibility.
“I came out early to show that age is no barrier to voting. We must all play our part,” he said.
