Air Peace Clarifies Port Harcourt Incident: False Fire Alarm Triggered Precautionary Measures
Air Peace has addressed concerns regarding an incident on April 25, 2024, involving its Port Harcourt to Lagos flight (P47193). The airline clarified that a false fire alarm in the cockpit prompted the captain to initiate standard safety procedures.
According to a statement by Stanley Olisa, Air Peace’s Corporate Communications Lead, the captain noticed a fire warning indicator shortly before landing. In response, the crew executed all necessary precautionary measures, including notifying the Operations Control Center in Lagos. Upon landing, it was determined that the alarm was falsely triggered, and there was no actual fire event. All passengers disembarked safely without incident [1] .
