UBA & Renewvia Commission Solar Systems Across 25 Branches!

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has taken a significant step toward sustainability by partnering with Renewvia Solar Nigeria to deploy advanced solar and battery hybrid systems across 25 of its branches located in five Nigerian states. [1]
The initiative โ launched at a ribbonโcutting ceremony held at UBAโs Oba Akran 2 branch in Ikeja, Lagos โ was officiated by the Nordic Ambassador to Nigeria, Svein Bรฆra, symbolising strong NigeriaโNorway cooperation in renewable energy. [1]
Under a 10โyear PowerโasโaโService agreement, Renewvia will deliver clean energy systems that generate approximately 152,000 kWh of clean electricity each month โ reducing UBAโs carbon footprint by over 89,000 kilogrammes of COโ monthly. The full rollout is expected to cover 50 locations across 18 states, representing 3 MWp solar capacity and 7 MWh of energy storage. [2]
Speaking at the event, UBA Deputy Managing Director Muyiwa Akinyemi emphasised that sustainability is integral to Africaโs future:
