Reported by Marian Opeyemi Fasesan | Sele Media Africa
The Ogun State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Femi Aina, has urged residents, especially party loyalists, to seize the opportunity of the ongoing voter registration to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a grassroots sensitisation event on Thursday, Aina emphasized that voter apathy remains a major challenge to transformative leadership and called on the electorate to view their PVCs as “powerful weapons for meaningful political change.”
“No more sitting on the fence. If you want change, your PVC is your voice. 2027 is our opportunity,” Aina declared.
Key Points:
- Aina noted that NNPP is strengthening its structures across all 20 local government areas of Ogun State.
- He encouraged youth and women to lead mobilization drives within their communities.
- The party plans a statewide PVC sensitisation campaign starting January 2026.
Why It Matters:
- The statement underscores growing political mobilization ahead of the 2027 polls.
- It reflects NNPP’s intent to deepen its base in Ogun State and challenge dominant parties.
- Voter turnout and registration figures in the South-West will play a key role in shaping national outcomes.
