2027: Atiku Denies Plans to Step Down for Anyone!
Reported by David Joshua | Sele Media Africa
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has rejected circulating rumors that he intends to step aside for another aspirant in the 2027 presidential race.
In a statement released by his media office, Atiku described the claims as “laughable” and “fictional,” accusing the APC of spreading false narratives designed to fracture the opposition. He emphasized that no meeting had taken place in which he considered stepping down for a southern candidate. [1]
“Atiku Abubakar was never in attendance. The entire story is a malicious fabrication — pure fiction cooked up in the propaganda kitchens of the Tinubu‑led APC regime,” the statement read. [2]
His team urged Nigerians and media houses to treat the rumor with the contempt it deserves, saying it lacks attribution, credibility, or any factual basis. [2]
