Activist Aisha Yesufu has thrown her full support behind Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s hard‑hitting warning to election riggers ahead of the 2027 polls in the state. Yesufu described the act of rigging as tantamount to a coup d’état and endorsed Otti’s call for those planning manipulation to “write their will.” [1]

During her statement, Yesufu urged Nigerians to treat election rigging with the same severity reserved for terrorism. “When you rig elections, you are actually stealing the lives of the people,” she remarked. [1]

Governor Otti had earlier declared that anyone plotting to rig the Abia 2027 election should first prepare for the worst, asserting that the people would resist any stolen mandate. Yesufu responded by praising the governor’s stance and calling on all Nigerians to adopt the same mindset. [2]

With national attention already on the coming general election cycle, the duo’s remarks highlight rising tensions and the urgent call for credible, transparent electoral processes in Nigeria.
