2026 Convention: APC Chieftain Denies Interest in National Youth Leader Position!

A leading chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chukwuebuka Obidike, has officially dismissed circulating rumours that he intends to contest for the position of APC National Youth Leader ahead of the party’s 2026 national convention.
Obidike, a former aspirant for the office, made the clarification in a statement to journalists on Saturday, describing reports linking him to the race as misleading and unfounded. He emphasised that he has neither declared his candidacy nor plans to contest for the influential party position.
“I have not declared, nor do I have any intention of contesting for the position of APC National Youth Leader at the 2026 national convention. Any report suggesting otherwise is completely misleading,” Obidike said.
The APC chieftain clarified that his decision should not be interpreted as a withdrawal from party activities or a sign of reduced loyalty. Rather, he explained that he is currently focused on strengthening his business interests while continuing to support the ruling party in other capacities.
Obidike, who also serves as Executive Director of Clarivo Holdings Limited, reaffirmed his commitment to the growth of the APC but declined to endorse any aspirant vying for the youth leader position. He stressed that the contest should remain open, fair, and guided by the party’s constitution and principles of internal democracy.
He further called for unity and discipline within the party as preparations for the 2026 national convention intensify, urging party leaders and members to place collective interest above personal ambition.
Obidike also encouraged young party members to remain constructive, focused, and actively supportive of the APC leadership, noting that responsible engagement is critical to sustaining the party’s vision at both national and grassroots levels.
