11 Terrorists Surrender as Troops Kill Eight in BornoBy Enock Damidami | Sele Media AfricaMaiduguri — The Nigerian Army has confirmed that 11 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists surrendered to troops in Borno State, while eight others were neutralised during clearance operations in the northeastern region.According to military sources, the operations took place in the Timbuktu Triangle and surrounding areas of the Lake Chad region. Items recovered from the terrorists include arms, ammunition, motorcycles, and logistics supplies.Army spokesman Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu said the surrender was a result of intensified ground and aerial offensives that have disrupted terrorist hideouts and supply routes. The surrendered fighters are currently undergoing profiling and de-radicalisation procedures.The military reiterated its commitment to restoring peace to the region and called on remaining insurgents to lay down their arms.
