In a demonstration of its continued commitment to youth development and educational advancement, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David Parish in Abuja, has awarded scholarships to 20 students through its scholarship programme.
The initiative, part of the church’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, is aimed at supporting brilliant but financially challenged students across Nigeria, regardless of their religious affiliation.
Speaking during the scholarship presentation ceremony, the Resident Pastor emphasized that education remains a powerful tool for nation-building and that the church is committed to contributing meaningfully to the country’s future through youth empowerment.
“This is beyond charity. It’s an investment into the future of our country. We believe that when we empower one student, we empower an entire community,” the pastor stated.
Beneficiaries of the scholarship expressed deep gratitude, describing the support as life-changing. Parents and guardians of the recipients also applauded the church for stepping in where many have lost hope due to rising school fees and economic hardship.
The RCCG City of David Parish says this is only the beginning, with plans to expand the programme in the coming years to reach more students across different parts of Nigeria.
