The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has raised alarm over the mass migration of medical professionals, blaming poor remuneration and harsh working conditions for the brain drain crisis.According to NARD, many doctors are forced to seek better opportunities abroad due to underfunded health facilities, delayed salaries, and lack of modern equipment. The association warned that if urgent steps are not taken, Nigeria’s healthcare system could face severe collapse.Meanwhile, the Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, has appealed to medical professionals to embrace patriotism and prioritize service to the nation above financial benefits. He stressed that government remains committed to reforms aimed at improving healthcare delivery across the country. Despite this, doctors insist that without concrete action on welfare and working conditions, the exodus of health workers will continue.
