The cybercrime trial of suspended Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been adjourned to October 20, 2025, by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The delay came after her legal counsel, Ehiogie West-Idahosa (SAN), raised an objection regarding the charges brought against her by the Federal Government, challenging both the competence of the charges and the jurisdiction of the court to entertain them.
The prosecution, led by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, had planned to open its case, but the raised objection halted proceedings.
Justice Emeka Nwite postponed the trial to allow time for the court to hear and rule on the objection. The ruling will determine whether the trial will proceed or if the charges will be struck out.
Natasha has consistently denied all allegations, describing the case as politically motivated.
